FirstBank upgrades FirstMonie App for convenience, safety

First Bank of Nigeria Limited has upgraded its FirstMonie App for customers to experience fast, safe and convenient mobile money service from the bank. Due to the growing volume of transactions via web and mobile platforms, FirstMonie app which can be downloaded on various mobile devices including iPhone, iPad, Android, Blackberry and all Java enabled phones, gives the banking and non-banking public instant access to their funds on the go.

According to Mrs. Folake Ani-Mumuney, Head, Marketing and Corporate Communications, FirstBank, “FirstMonie lets you send and receive money; buy airtime, make purchases and pay bills all from your mobile phone without a bank account. This app makes it even more convenient for you to access your Firstmonie account directly from your handheld device. The Firstmonie App was recently upgraded to include mobile banking features that will enable FirstBank account holders’ access and transact directly from their accounts.”

Among the functions, she said could be accomplished with the Firstmonie app via mobile wallet or bank account include; send/receive Money; send money to any mobile phone (whether registered on Firstmonie or not); Send money to any FirstBank account; Receive money from any other bank account. It can also be used to buy airtime, credit your mobile phone directly with airtime from your preferred network, credit other mobile phones with airtime from any network. Withdraw money, make cardless withdrawals at ATM, make withdrawals at Firstmonie agent of FirstBank Branch; Pay Bills- Pay utility bills, cable TV bills, subscriptions and state payment bills.

Other are Shopping; pay for items at Firstmonie merchant i.e. shops, restaurants and supermarkets; Money Transfer between linked accounts- Transfer money from Bank account to Wallet, Transfer Wallet to Bank account; Check Balance- Check mobile wallet balance, Check bank account balance; Manage Accounts- Manage mobile wallet account i.e. Mini statements, Change PIN, Access i.e. activating other channels to access account (e.g. Adding USSD *894# and Web channel).
