ZTE Nigeria outline direction for 2014

ZTE Nigeria Limited has outlined its direction for business in Nigeria for 2014. The Chinese technology solutions company said it will remain focused on wireless and broadband systems and their ancillary transmission networks. Senior staff Brielle Gao at a media interaction in Lagos to close the year said the company “will continue to drive product innovation and solution-based operations with a strong focus on mainstream products, while seeking to improve Research and Development efficiency.”

Brielle said doing business in Nigeria has brought both benefits and challenges. “To us Nigeria is a key market for telecommunications growth in Africa and the world. Here you have very dynamic and versatile market driven by high population of tech -trendy and unassuming end-users. With our competitive, robust, innovative solutions and technologies, ZTE is best poised for strong presence in this market.”

One of the hallmarks of ZTE’s achievement is the completion and launch of the National Public Security Project Communication System (NPSCS) Project. An elated Brielle said the company was proud to be associated with Nigeria’s new drive to use technology to checkmate crime and improve safety. “We at ZTE are very proud to have delivered a secured, modern e-security platform and solutions to the Nigerian government and the Nigerian people. The NPSCS project remains a security issue and should be treated as such but suffice to say here that the project is indeed an audacious step towards providing modern infrastructure for public security and E-policing in Nigeria.”

The company also consolidated on its partnerships with telcos. “Through the year 2013 we strengthen our relationship with the local operators. We are currently involved in facility upgrade with some major operators in Nigeria. We hope that in the coming year we will be continue to offer more efficient, up to date infrastructure that will not only boost mobile phone services but particularly catalyse access to broadband services.”

As part of its giving back to community, the company initiated the ZTE ICT Lab Project for primary and secondary schools. With this project, ZTE plans to make donations of ICT laboratories to select primary or secondary schools. “We are kicking off this project with the donation of an ICT Lab to the Police Children School located at Mopol 20 Barracks, Ikeja, Lagos. The lab, which is ready for commissioning, is equipped with 20 modern Desktop Computers with UPS accessories and a Laserjet Office Printer. The Desktops will be linked with Internet facilities. The lab is also complemented with a 5 KVA Generator.”
