One of Nigeria’s legacy institutions, Ahmadu Bello University has launched the first online portal for the study of Masters in Business Administration (MBA) in Nigeria, which has been accredited by the Nigerian Universities Commission (NUC).
The new window will help extend knowledge certifications in MBA notably for working professionals across the country without having to leave their workplaces. The Director of Distance Learning, Professor Adamu Zoaka Hassan while speaking at the formal launch of the program said Ahmadu Bello University is formally helping to end the challenges associated with distance learning in the country.
“The wall of limitations have been hacked down in the world of distance learning which Ahmadu Bello University is bringing to the educational landscape,” said Hassan.
According to the university, lecture videos and study materials can be accessed offline via custom tablets or Dual USB sticks on smart phones or PCs. Also, submitting assignments and projects as well as interacting with lecturers, tutors and other classmates will happen via the university’s e-learning portal (online), whileexamination centers will be spread across all regions of the country to facilitate the ease of taking the exams without necessarily going to the campus.
The Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Ibrahim Garba, represented by his Deputy (Administration), Professor Ibrahim NaiyaSada while speaking at the unveiling of the program on how safe the program is for prospective students to participate in without doubting the certification said “this is the same degree, same ABU and accredited by the NUC, so it’s safe”
In a bid to make the program more robust than any other in the country, the university is also partnering with big names in the corporate industry like Jobberman and Accenture Nigeria. Jobberman will avail users who become students special offers regarding career options from internships to CV re-writes and job placement while Accenture Nigeria will improve the program experience through internship opportunities for students during the semester and full time jobs after the program.
